Mission Statement:
MTHS STAGE will work with the MTHS administration and staff, as well as the Montville Board of Education, to enhance the existing performing arts program in order to provide our students with a breadth of experience that will enrich their understanding of the arts, and provide them with tools they can use long after they graduate.
Goals:
- To support, improve, and maintain the Montville Township High School auditorium’s physical plant, while assisting with performance needs of plays, musicals, concerts and performances produced in the auditorium.
- To involve the Montville Township Board of Education and the Montville community, in order to develop a program that will be a beacon for the town of Montville.
- To provide a wide range of theatrical experiences for our students and our community.
Short Term Goals:
- New Lighting System
- Continue to Upgrade Sound System
- Clean up the theatre and find a space outside of the auditorium to store existing scenery, props and possibly costumes.
- Encourage students to develop an understanding of the producing a show from all sides including the budgeting, ticket sales, orchestra, technical aspects of the theatre, directing, and performing.
Long Range Goals
- Scholarships
- Statewide recognition of performers, particularly in theatrical arenas.
- Encourage students who are involved in productions to focus on raising funds to support their work through activities such as program ads, promoting ticket sales and concessions
